New Music and Happy Two Years to Slack Tide

Yesterday was the two year anniversary of our album Slack Tide. To celebrate we have released an alternate version of the ultimate track on the record, Man Made Lake. The current version titled MML is a reimagining of the track.

Most of the time when working, we are kicking around multiple versions of the same song. It is oft the case that our favorite version ends up being the one we release. Man Made Lake was a little different. Their were two versions very early on (neither similar to MML) and the decision was that one version felt like it was the right choice to close the album and it became the version that was worked up.

After performing the Man Made Lake, it became apparent that its quality was in its placement. We still believe it is the right way to finish out listening to the record. Outside of that context, the feel and the emotions behind the song felt lost. The song is about a very youthful and joyful moment and it ended up encased in a jazz dirge crescendo. MML seeks to revisit the song and pay it justice by giving it the musical language that matches the inspiration.

It will be up on all the streaming sites soon and we will send an update so that you can add it to your playlists!
